Animation books
My vast collection of animation and film-making books: let me sell it to you.

They're all in absolutely beautiful as-new condition. Many of them were read only once, as I'm a packrat when it comes to books, and I treat them as my most valued possessions.

I will start by posting a price-list here and on a couple of LJ communities, and finally on eBay. Shipping makes this impractical for anyone who isn't in Australia, but I'm writing here to find out if any of my local readers might be interested? If there isn't a whisper of interest I'll probably go straight to eBay. Maybe the noticeboard of the QLD College of Arts too, at the start of next semester there.

I'm holding on to the scriptwriting ones, along with 'The Art of Tarzan', which was signed and drawn in by Kerchak's lead animator (who also created 'The Proud Family', which is how I met him) and thus has sentimental value.

In other news, last night I dreamed I was pals with Neil Gaiman. It was pretty awesome at the time, though daggy in hindsight. He's a bit of a cutie though, isn't he? I'm a sucker for intelligent scruffy-haired men who stubbornly insist on sporting archaic fashion. Not that his trademark leathers are archaic, per se, but at least he's not a bloody metrosexual. Ew. I'm not overly-ironed, scrubbed, buttoned and hair-product-ed, and my male crushes shouldn't be either. ;)

Sort of sad to see you *selling off *animation boo*ks. Kind of. But then most things make me sad these days. However I would be interested in seeing what you have available.

Eh, I feel I've come as far as I want to come in the animation field. (Not as far as I COULD yet go, but as far as I want to.)

It's not a sad thing, from my point of view. I'm excited about setting off down a new path. :)

Well then I guess it's all right. So I am somewhat unclear as to this new path. I do remember you working with jewelry, and then advertising?

Still, you worked at Freakin' Disney...

I know I'd probably be very interested, depending on what was on offer. *curious*

OMG, if I have to hear about Neil Gaiman one more time--

Oh! Not to say I don't love Neil Gaiman. On the contrary. I have, so far, two of the Absolute Sandman books, three signed works, The Graveyard Book both in hardback and in my Kindle, and he is currently my favorite all around author.

It's just that I've now become a fan of Amanda Palmer and Jonathan Coulton and so it feels like everyday I hear about Neil six or seven times!

Anyway, here I offer you examples. Enjoy:

Hi Tania

Can you send me a list of the books that you are wanting to part with on the Film Making side of things, so that I can forward it to my sister - who is studying in this area?

My email is: melissa@crystaldolphin.org

Thanks and Hugs. I know what it is like to part with books.

Def would love to know what you have and what you want for them :)

Do you have any of your first year animation books? It's something I'd like to look into on a 101 level.
rhianimated From: rhianimated Date: December 20th, 2008 07:45 am (UTC) (Link)

Hi Tania,

I'd be very interested in any art of/production books you're looking at selling (especially Disney ones); so I'd love to see a list of what you're selling.

Also, it was great catching up with you last week, even if it was brief! :D
