Tired - Suffering From Elation
A Survivor's Tale
Couldn't get to sleep last night for a very long time. When that happens in summer, the only thing that gets me to sleep is turning the ceiling fan on high. The whirring noise sort of hypnotizes me into unconsciousness. I pay for this the next morning with a lecture from Joe about how much electricity the fan uses. Pshaw to him, I say - I seem to recall that switching on the infinitely-worse air-conditioner at Bond St was usually his idea. ;P I would have the fan down lower but there's something wrong with it; on every other setting it rattles irregularly, which is not so good for sleep.

Anyway, upshot is I'm tired, and whilst the looming weekend would seem like a good opportunity to remedy this, it's not going to be. I have to work an hour later than usual this afternoon due to the Brisbane buses being INSANELY bad this week. That's a rant for another day - let's just say that when you're halfway to work in the morning and they kick everyone off the bus due to bus shortages, that sucks. When it happens on three seperate mornings in the same week? You're ready to march on Town Hall with pitchforks.

So when I finally get off work, I have to make an appearance at work's welcome drinks for Aaron, who just started here and who I worked with at Fuze Media last year too. After that there's a party at Rose's tonight which I've promised I'll attend, then tomorrow I've got a day-long TAFE course, then tomorrow night we're driving down to Joe's parents' place, then on Sunday we're driving back because Sarah Grey is coming over. Damo wanted to come over as well, but there's just not going to be time. I believe there's supposed to be some construction work to be done on the cat run, too... it now needs a roof, as Rick's cat Beckett figured out how to climb the sides to freedom.

Augh... so... tired.

This week has been fine aside from the buses... I had dinner with Vix on Wednesday night and then some random lady in the food court gave me a pair of free tickets to a movie called 'Traitor' for the same night, so Joe rocked up and we went to see that together... It was pretty good.

Midway through my first editing run on the story... I'm going to do about five runs, each looking for different things. Better get my arse into gear, as I want to get feedback on it before the submission date in early December too.

Sorry guys, nothing interesting or exciting to tell you at all. Got my new project at work. This one is pretty basic.

*nod* I have a plaster wall next to my bed, so it's always cool/cold, and I can lean against it when things get too hot in the room.

Hehe, I forgot your summer's are backwards in Futureland. It's just starting to get cold here. Mind you, being Arizona it never gets all THAT cold, but further north they already have snow drifts.
