I'm a bit of a Meyers-Briggs Personality Test fan; have been ever since I read my mother's psychology textbooks as a teenager. Meyers-Briggs results are so consistent, regardless of the length and complexity of the test. At least, they are for me. I've taken over twenty of those tests in various forms over the years, and I am ALWAYS, without exception, an INFP.
Apparently INFPs form only 1% of the population. Are any of you guys an INFP too?
I have a pair of shorts that won't stay up properly anymore. I can actually pull these things off easily without undoing a single button. ^_^ Since Christmas (and as of this morning) I've lost a grand total of 5.5 kilograms (12 pounds), and I seem to be keeping this up at a rate of approximately 1 kilogram per week. All my old jeans are starting to fit again (which means I now have a pair of jeans for every damn day of the week if I like).
I feel healthier and stronger. I can walk further, faster and for longer. I'm not getting random muscular pains anywhere near what I was, despite the fact that my job entails sitting in front of a computer all day.
It's good when it all starts to come together. :)
Other diets I've tried over the past couple of years have been too harsh; invariably, I'd lost a kilo or two but also be unable to maintain the strictness. This diet is right for me, and I've gone waaay beyond just-a-kilo-or-two now. It's working... and seeing results like this is part of what keeps me determined.
When I've lost two more kilograms, I'll have hit the first of three benchmarks I set for myself. I'm going to reward myself with something nice (preferrably not an item of clothing, as I plan to lose a LOT more after that). I need to lose another ten kilograms after that to reward myself a second time. And after THAT, it's just toning and fine-tuning. I've still got a long way to go, but at least I'm making progress, and I'm doing so in a sensible and healthy way (My diet balances all the food groups fairly well - perhaps not enough dairy, as I don't like milk, but I get cheese every day - and I don't deprive myself in social situations).
When I hit the second benchmark, I'm rewarding myself with clothes, dammit. ^_^
And when I've finished fine-tuning, I'm wearing tops that show my tummy, because what's the point of working on it like this if you can't show it off? 'Sides, my fishbelly needs some sun.
